The story board is the a structuralist approach to a horror chase scene with a mystery shadowed figure chasing a women who even though you can't see it in the picture is blond who in this sub genre is often the victim. The use of the dark corridor with the dark door is used to bring tension and then i used the misdirection to shock the audience. I also used made her trip something used in almost every slasher film as a way of the slow walking killer to catch the killer in a way that shows the victim as powerless with no hope. In the last pane i showed the killers bloody dripping knife this image is very key in the slasher genre this last pane even by its self could show that this chase scene is part of a slasher film.

This chase scene is very structuralist of this sub-genre with most of the panes being used very often in other films like halloween and scream. This structuralist scene is very easy to create due to its tropes standout from other genres.    

Scream

The intro to the scream is very structuralist  in the way its filmed using loads of codes and conducts,The biggest and most prominent would be the blond damsel in distress who gets murdered by the evil bad guy who comes out the dark. However this opening scene is also post-modern with its references to other films such as halloween and the murderer quizzing the victim about these movies.

A good example of the use of structuralism is with the smoke made by the pop-corn this makes the clouded atmosphere that would be made mostly by fog to this is another use of of a very stereotypical thing you see in other horror films mostly in the slasher sub-genre im other films like halloween. This sub-genre has lots of other things such as the fog another one that is very present in the intro in the white house of the victim this shows the victim as pure innocent and undeserving of the murder so this further increases the shock of what is happening on the screen.

The most present one that is the best icon of a slasher film that is in the intro is the Knife this is seen best when she is on the phone and plays with the knife set and pulls out for a brief couple of seconds the most used knife, This is an example of how this is both structuralist and post-modern as it recognizes the use of the knife but not in a way that draws attention to itself.

In conclusion the intro to scream is structuralist as it uses the codes and conventions of the horror genre and the slasher sub genre such as the smoke and the knifes. However it is also post-modern on how it approaches these cliches.
